The Executive Management is Ethio-Re’s managing body. It implements the strategy adopted by the Board of Directors. Our Executive Management consists of 8 members.

Academic Background:He holds BA in Accounting from Addis Ababa University and Diploma in Accounting from Kotebe College of education.
Work experience: He has over 23 years experience holding various positions. He previously served as CEO of Ethiopian Insurance Corporation (EIC), Board Director at the Addis Ababa Chamber of Commerce and Sectoral Associations, Board Member of the Development Bank of Ethiopia, Vice President of the Association of Ethiopian Insurers, and Member of the Board of Trustees at the National Bank of Ethiopia. Prior to these roles, he held several leadership positions at EIC, including Deputy CEO for General Insurance Operations, Director of Districts A and B, and Branch Manager I and II.

Advanced Professional Qualifications Fikru holds the following professional designations from Life Office Management Institute (LOMA, USA). ARA: Associate Reinsurance Administrator, FLMI: Fellow, Life Office Management Institute, ACS: Associate Customer service , ALMI: Associate Life office Management Institute. Moreover he has CERT, CII: Certificate in Insurance, General Insurance from Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) , London and Certified Takaful Professional (CTP) .
Prize/Merit Awards: Fikru has won a prize as “Emerging Personality in Takaful and Re-Takaful Awards” by the Awards Committee of African Interest Free Banking and Finance Awards on February 18, 2020 Addis Ababa, Ethiopia as recognition to his contribution to the progresses made so far in Ethiopia the Ethiopian Insurance Industry.
Academic Background:He also holds Masters of Business Administration (MBA) , Masters of Arts (MA) in Human Resources and Organizational Development (HROD), Masters of Arts (MA) in Journalism and Communications (J&C) FROM Addis Ababa University, Ethiopia, and Master of arts (MA) in Islamic banking and finance. He also has Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Marketing Management and Bachelor of Science (BSC) Degree from Addis Ababa university.
Work Experience: Overall he has over 18 years of experiance in the insurance industry. He is currently serving as Executive Officer(EO), Strategy and Business Development and Company secretary. Before that he was working as Manager, Business Development and Coprorate Affairs and secretary to the Board at Ethiopian Re. Previously he had worked for Ethiopian Insurance Corporation as Director, Micro-insurance Directorate,Director, Marketing and Strategic Management, as Team Leader Strategic Management,Principal Officer, Operations and Supervisor, Underwriting and Claims Sections.

Academic Background: He holds Bachelor of Arts (BA) Degree in Accounting from Addis Ababa University.
Work Experience: Overall he has over 20 years of experience in the Insurance and Reinsurance Sector. He is currently serving as A/ Executive Officer(EO), Finance and Investment Department. Before that he was working as Manager, Investment and Share Administration. Previously he had worked for Nile Insurance S.C as Manager, Finance and Investment Department.

Professional Experience:
Mr. Semere Atakilt Tesfaye brings over 18 years of extensive experience in the field of Information Technology, with a specialized focus on the insurance sector. He currently serves as Executive Officer – Information Technology at Ethiopian Reinsurance S.C., where he oversees digital transformation initiatives, IT governance, and the management of the core insurance system.

Previous Roles Include:
• Executive Officer – IT and IT Project Manager, Bunna Insurance S.C.
• IT Division Manager, Global Insurance S.C.
• Head of Network and Communication Administration Division, Nib Insurance S.C.
• Network & Systems Administration Manager & Acting Head of MIS Department, and various IT leadership roles at Selam Children’s Village

Key Projects Led or Contributed To:
• Implementation of Core Insurance Applications for General, Life, Medical Insurance & ERP at Bunna, Nib & Global Insurance companies

Academic Background.: He holds Bachelor of Arts degree in Accounting, from Unity University.
Work Experience: Overall he has over 18 years of experience of which over 14 years in the insurance industry. He is currently serving as Director, Audit at Ethiopian Re. Previously he has worked for Nile Insurance and Africa Insurance as Manager Internal Audit. He is reach in Internal Audit and in IFRS implementation in different organizations. Currently he serves for Institution of Internal Auditors, Ethiopia (IIA Ethiopia) as a Board.

Work experience: over 18 years in different organizations in human resources positions such as recruitment, competency-based assessment, selection, performance management systems, learning and development, talent management, reward, employee relations, property administration, termination and resignation, and handling other administration issues.

Academic Background: He holds executives Masters of Business Administration from Addis Ababa University., (A.A.U) and Bachelor of Arts degree in Management , from A.A.U .
Work Experience: He has more than 19 years experience as an Internal Auditor, Risk manager and Accountant. Currently, he is serving as Chief Risk and Compliance Officer at Ethiopian Re. Previously, he has served as Manager, Risk and Compliance Department and Manager Audit and Inspection Department in Nib Insurance Company Share Company. He has also served as Auditor and Senior Auditor, Manager Management Audit Department and Manager, General Services Department at Ethiopian Insurance Corporation.

• He has experience in writing about various legal issues, particularly business-related matters, for magazines and newspapers.
