Ethiopian Reinsurance SC has conducted its maiden training entitled “Life Reinsurance: Life Treaties and Facultative Placement” in collaboration with APEX Insurance, on 20th and 21st June, 2018 at Radison Blu Hotel. The training was particularly designed to enhance the technical knowledge
of staff of insurance companies whose primary responsibility involves the negotiation and placement of life reinsurance (treaty or facultative).
During the training it was expressed that there is untapped potential in the sector and Ethiopian Re plans to support the primary insurance market on the development of life insurance business in Ethiopia. This can be achieved through raising awareness of the public and develop the capacity of professionals that working in life insurance business.
In this regard, Ethiopian Re will organize successive trainings and workshops on the same subject in the future to develop the human resources capacity and skill in an attempt to encourage innovation and product development in life insurance in the country.
