Today marks a historic milestone for Ethiopian Reinsurance S.C. (EthioRe) as the Company proudly celebrates the 10th anniversary of its establishment.
On 1 July 2016, EthioRe commenced operations with a bold national vision: to strengthen Ethiopia’s insurance industry by building local reinsurance capacity, reducing foreign currency outflows, and supporting the country’s economic development. Over the past decade, that vision has evolved into a remarkable success story.
From its beginnings as Ethiopia’s national reinsurer, EthioRe has grown into a respected regional reinsurance company with operations spanning 12 countries across Africa. Through sound financial performance, strong partnerships, and an unwavering commitment to excellence, the Company has earned the confidence of insurers, brokers, and business partners while contributing to the resilience and sustainable growth of Africa’s insurance industry.
This year’s anniversary is celebrated under the theme “Rising with Africa,” reflecting EthioRe’s strategic vision and commitment to growing alongside one of the world’s fastest-evolving regions. As Africa continues to experience economic transformation, increased investment, and expanding demand for risk protection, EthioRe remains dedicated to delivering innovative reinsurance solutions, strengthening regional partnerships, and supporting sustainable economic development across the continent.
