Ethiopian Reinsurance S.C. (Ethio-Re) is pleased to announce its participation in the 52nd African Insurance Organisation (AIO) Conference and Annual General Assembly, organized by the Insurers Federation of Egypt (IFE) and held at the InterContinental CityStars, Cairo, Egypt, from 05–09 June 2026.
As part of the conference program, Mr. Fikru Tsegaye, Executive Officer – Strategy and Business Development at Ethio-Re, delivered a presentation on 08 June 2026 titled:
“The Role of Multipurpose Risk-Sharing Platforms in Agricultural Insurance: Lessons from Ethiopia.”
The presentation showcased Ethiopia’s experience in agricultural risk management and highlighted the role of collaborative risk-sharing mechanisms in enhancing resilience within the agricultural sector. It also emphasized the importance of innovative insurance solutions in addressing emerging risks and supporting sustainable agricultural development across Ethiopia and the wider African continent.
Through the presentation, participants gained valuable insights into Ethiopia’s evolving agricultural insurance landscape and the opportunities for strengthening risk-sharing partnerships to improve financial protection for farmers and agricultural stakeholders.
