1 July 2026 marked a significant milestone in the history of Ethiopian Reinsurance Share Company (EthioRe) as the Company celebrated its 10th anniversary.
Established on 1 July 2016, EthioRe began its journey with a clear national vision: to strengthen Ethiopia’s insurance industry by building domestic reinsurance capacity, reducing foreign currency outflows, and supporting the country’s economic development.
Over the past decade, that vision has evolved into a remarkable success story. From serving the Ethiopian market as the country’s national reinsurer, EthioRe has expanded its operations across 12 African countries, earning the confidence of clients, business partners, and stakeholders while contributing to the growth and resilience of Africa’s insurance industry.
This year’s anniversary is celebrated under the theme “Rising with Africa,” reflecting the Company’s commitment to growing alongside the continent. As Africa continues to experience economic transformation, increased investment, and rising demand for effective risk management solutions, EthioRe remains dedicated to delivering innovative reinsurance services, fostering strong partnerships, and supporting sustainable development across the region.
